City Centre Endodontic’s

COVID-19 Safety Plan

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months! Whilst many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety, and our team’s safety. Our office follows protocols and guidelines set by the college of dental surgeons (CDSBC), work safe BC, BC center for disease control and the provincial health office. Nonetheless, we took some extra precaution measures to make sure we exceed the state of practice and the minimum requirements set by those protocols and guidelines, e.g. we equipped our office with state of the art “source capture system”, as well as unit air purifiers. See section 3 (below), for more information regarding additional safeguarding measures that we implemented in our office.

1. Safeguarding our Patients:

  • All patients need to complete a pre appointment health screening prior to their arrival at the clinic.
  • Patients are encouraged to attend at their assigned appointment time promptly and not before to help implement full capacity protocols.
  • Patient’s body temperature will be recorded using an infrared thermometer on arrival.
  • Only scheduled patients are permitted into the building unless the need for a parent or guardian.
  • We provide the patients with a new surgical face mask. Patients need to attend the practice with a new facemask and only remove it when asked by Dr. Neda or her by her team.
  • Patients need to follow strict hand hygiene instructions on arrival i.e. hand washing with soap and water followed by hand sanitization.
  • All pre procedural patients are provided with a 1.5% hydrogen peroxide mouth rinse.
  • We increased appointment lengths to allow for extensive cross infection control in between each patient inside operation rooms and across whole office.
  • See our office info-graph here.

2.   Safeguarding our dental-team:

  • We conduct strict daily health screening and social distancing protocols for all staff.
  • All staff to wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) as approved by the college of dental surgeons.
  • We have been fully paperless (where possible) to help reduce physical interactions, hence reducing potential for cross contamination.
  • Plexi glass barriers are installed in the reception area.
  • Soft furnishings are removed from the waiting area.
  • We continue practicing and maintaining high standards of cross infection control and regular hand hygiene.

3.   Additional safeguarding measures:

  1. Our office is now equipped with a source capture system which is known by industry as the most effective measure for reducing the spread of aerosols right from the source of transmission.
  2. Our source capture system treats the intake air with a state of the art dual filtering system – one layer of HEPA and one layer of Super-HEPA filters – complete with a high intensity UV-C disinfection system.

Following video is taken through proof test of our source capture system.

  1. We use the newest generation of unit air purifiers which provide air filtering through HEPA filters complete with UVC lights.
  2. Our surgical microscopes are equipped with a splatter shield, which provides another layer of cross infection control between patients and clinicians.

We will provide our patients with PPE gears (e.g. masks, gloves, and shoe covers), before they enter our office.
